Use It for Real Checkout Math

Discount labels can be confusing when tax, coupons, shipping, or bundle offers are added later. Compare the final price with the amount you actually pay.

  3. Click Calculate to see the discounted price and amount saved.
  4. Switch modes to calculate what percentage a sale price represents.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a 20 percent discount?

Multiply the original price by 0.20 to get the discount amount, then subtract from the original to get the sale price. Or enter both values directly in the calculator.

Can I apply two discounts in sequence?

Apply the first discount to get the intermediate price, then apply the second discount to that result. Two 10 percent discounts equal 19 percent, not 20 percent.

How do I find the original price from a sale price?

Divide the sale price by (1 minus the discount rate). A sale price of 70 at 30 percent off means the original was 70 divided by 0.70 equals 100.
